Telephone Directory Parking Ticket Appeal Form
Questionnaire Construction Permit Parking 2 to 5 Parking Information
INFORMATION PAGE
The purpose for this part of our Web page is to answer questions we often receive from the general public. From time to time this "Question and Answer section" will reflect the type of information being requested from our staff. This Webpage is intended to provide individuals with an electronic means of receiving information.
While the telephone directory provides the Web browser with a means of calling a staff member with a specific request, this Web page is intended to provide general information, and "what to do if......." type of concerns.
One of the major issues that citizens and new residents must deal with is parking concerns. With the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, officers from the Oshkosh Police Department and the University Police Department spend a large amount of time and effort educating students as to the "do's and don't" on a number of parking related issues. It is hoped that this page will assist students and residents - making things easier for all and preventing problems from occurring.
The first issue to be discussed is that of 2am to 5am (Night Parking) on City Streets. The City of Oshkosh has an ordinance which prohibits parking, year around, from 2:00am to 5:00 am on all city streets where parking is allowed. The ordinance also makes provisions for the purchase of a Parking Permit, and under special circumstances, permission.
In the University area, and other areas of the community, there are a number of streets for which no permits will be sold or there may be restrictions on the number of permits that will be sold in a particular block.
PARKING TICKET APPEALS
Persons who wish to appeal a parking ticket they have received should do the following:
OSHKOSH POLICE CITIZENS SURVEY
If you have recently had contact with the Oshkosh Police department, we are asking for your help. Would you please take a few moments and fill out a questionnaire regarding you last contact with us.
OSHKOSH DEPARTMENT PATCHES
Many patch collectors have been contacting the Oshkosh Police Department requesting a shoulder patch. We do not accept patch requests that are made through the Internet, instead we ask that all patch requests be made through regular mail. Also, in an effort to cover our costs, we would ask that you send $3.00 (cash or check) along with a self addressed stamped envelope to:
Captain Randy Van Ness

EMERGENCY VEHICLES
At different times of the year motorist are reminded to be more alert for approaching emergency vehicles. Heater/air conditioners running, windows up, your favorite tune playing on the car stereo system, all make it difficult to hear an emergency vehicle's siren.
Please drive accordingly. Be alert and yield to a police car, fire truck, or ambulance that is responding to an emergency in your community.
