Assistant Chief of Police

The Assistant Chief of Police is the second in command of the Police Department and acts as the Chief of Police in the Chief's absence.  The Assistant Chief assists with planning, organizing and directing all activities of the Police Department.  Specific areas of responsibility are personnel management, which includes scheduling, employee evaluations and labor relations.  The Assistant Chief also assists the Chief with operational guidelines, programs and policies to ensure the attainment of specific goals for the Police Department.
