Subject:      UPDATE: Shooting in the 600 Block of Franklin St

UPDATE: On 8/10/2025 Officers from the Oshkosh Police Department took a 17-year-old male into custody for First Degree Attempted Homicide and multiple other charges. The male was located in the 1200 block of W 12th Av in the City of Oshkosh. He was placed at the Winnebago County Jail.

OSHKOSH, WI (August 9th, 2025): The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 600 Block of Franklin St in the City of Oshkosh.

On 08/09/2025 at approximately 1:50pm, Officers from the Oshkosh Police Department were dispatched to a report of gunshots in the area of Central St and W Irving Ave. Officers canvassed the area and located the victim, a 20-year-old male, with a gunshot wound.  Officers were able to determine that the shooting occurred in the 600 block of Franklin St.  The victim had his injuries treated at a local hospital, and the injuries are not life- threatening.

Detectives from the Oshkosh Police Department are actively working the investigation.  This appears to be an isolated incident between two individuals.  The suspect remains at large at this time.
