OSHKOSH, WI (October 12, 2025): The Oshkosh Police Department investigated several disturbances involving firearms during Pub Crawl which took place in the City of Oshkosh.

On 10/11/2025, the City of Oshkosh had a large increase in pedestrian traffic in the areas surrounding the college due to an event called “Pub Crawl.” This unsanctioned bi-annual event results in an increase in house parties throughout that area. Members of the Oshkosh Police Department’s Mobile Field Force worked diligently throughout the day and night to increase the presence of law enforcement in the residential areas near the campus.

At approximately 11:10 PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of Scott Avenue and Cherry Street. We received multiple reports that several males were brandishing firearms and pointing firearms at people in that area. Upon arrival at that location, an Oshkosh Police Officer located one of the suspects. When the Officer attempted to make contact with this male, he began resisting and tried to grab something from the front of his pants. He continued resisting arrest and was decentralized to the ground. When Officers took him into custody, a loaded handgun was located underneath his body. He is identified as a 17-year-old from Neenah. He was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person under 18, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Resisting/Obstructing an Officer and Disorderly Conduct.

While Officers were still in this area, a large disturbance took place involving about 100 people. During this disturbance, an Officer was knocked to the ground. The Officer sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital for the non-life-threatening injury.

While Officers were still in the area of the 800 Block of Scott Avenue, a Wisconsin State Trooper observed a suspect involved in a battery complaint. The suspect fled on foot and during the foot pursuit, the Trooper saw that the suspect had a handgun in his hand. After the short foot pursuit, this suspect was taken into custody for a Probation Hold, pending further investigation. He is a twenty-year-old male from Ripon. During the foot pursuit, it is believed that this male dropped a Black and Gray backpack. We are asking residents in the 700-800 Blocks of Woodland, Scott and Prospect to check their yards for this backpack. If it is located, please contact the Oshkosh Police Department immediately.

The Oshkosh Police Department continues to work diligently to locate and apprehend dangerous individuals. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and will continue taking decisive and swift action against conduct that threatens public safety. The safety and security of our citizens remains our top priority.
