Subject: UPDATE: Missing Person
On 03/03/2026 at approximately 07:43 AM, a deceased individual was located in a drainage area south of the on-ramp to southbound Hwy 41 and W 9th Avenue in the City of Oshkosh. It appeared that the individual had been deceased for a lengthy period of time. No identification was located near or on this person. Based on numerous identifying marks, we believe that the deceased individual is Fredrick Ellis, who had previously been reported missing. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th.
OSHKOSH, WI (January 10th, 2026): The Oshkosh Police Department is currently investigating a missing person. The Police Department is attempting to locate Frederick L Ellis 7/10/1966.
On 01/10/2026 at Officers were contacted by family as they have not heard from Frederick since October of 2025. Family is concerned for his safety due to mental health concerns. Officers have followed up on several possible leads however have been unsuccessful in locating him. Frederick is homeless and does not have a current address.
Frederick was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes. Frederick is an African American Male, 5’10” and approximately 160lbs. His is currently listed as Missing Person.
