Subject:      Disturbance at Pollock Pool and Disturbance with Weapon

On 06/06/2026, at approximately 4:03 PM, Officers were dispatched to a large physical fight between adults and juveniles at Pollock Pool, 1550 Taft Avenue, in the City of Oshkosh.

Officers immediately responded to the area and began speaking with people on scene. After further investigation, it was determined that the disturbance started when individuals were playing basketball in the pool. While they were playing basketball, others nearby were splashed and hit by the ball. After being splashed in the face with water, an adult pushed a juvenile, which then escalated into a larger physical disturbance involving several individuals.

The following people were referred to the District Attorney’s Office for charges:

-53-year-old female from Oshkosh referred for: Disorderly Conduct and Physical Abuse to a Child

-36-year-old female from West Allis referred for: Disorderly Conduct

-21-year-old male from Oshkosh referred for: Disorderly Conduct and Physical Abuse to a Child

-20-year-old female from Oshkosh referred for:  Disorderly Conduct and Physical Abuse to a Child

-17- year-old female from Oshkosh was referred for: Disorderly Conduct, Felony Bail Jumping, and Physical Abuse to a Child

At approximately 5:55 PM, Officers were dispatched to a residence located near E Melvin Avenue and N Main Street in the City of Oshkosh for the report of a disturbance involving a weapon. This disturbance was a continuation of the fight earlier at Pollock Pool. It was reported that there was a large physical disturbance outside of a residence on E Melvin Avenue and that a gunshot had been heard.

Upon arrival at that location, Officers made contact with several individuals. After further investigation, Officers discovered there had been a large disturbance in the front lawn of that residence, with males and females physically fighting.

The 20-year-old female from Oshkosh who had been involved in the disturbance at Pollock Pool was also involved in this disturbance. At one point, this female discharged the firearm into the air while she was outside the residence.

After the gun was shot, it was given to a different individual. Officers were able to locate and recover the handgun. No one was injured from the discharge of the weapon. The 20-year-old female was taken to jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon. The Oshkosh Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division continues to actively investigate both of these incidents.

The Oshkosh Police Department recognizes that incidents like these are concerning for residents, families, and everyone who uses our community spaces. Situations that begin as verbal disturbances can quickly escalate and create serious safety risks for those directly involved, as well for bystanders. We want to reassure the community that both incidents are being thoroughly investigated.

Community spaces, including our parks and pool, are meant to be safe places for everyone to gather and enjoy. Acts of violence and reckless behavior threaten that sense of safety and will not be tolerated. The Oshkosh Police Department remains committed to working with residents, families, and community partners to protect the public, reduce violence, and hold those responsible accountable.
