Subject:      UPDATE: Accident Jackson St/ Bacon Avenue

 

UPDATE: The roadway is now open to traffic.

 

On July 9, 2026, at approximately 11:38 AM, Officers were dispatched to an accident with injuries on Jackson Street at Bacon Avenue in the City of Oshkosh.

 

The accident involved a motorcycle that was travelling northbound on Jackson Street and a vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn onto Jackson Street from Bacon Avenue.

 

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

 

The Oshkosh Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team and OPD Detectives responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate this accident. Jackson Street between Packer Avenue and Smith Avenue is currently closed. Please avoid this area and use alternative routes.

 

Oshkosh Police Department was assisted by the Oshkosh Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.
